SEAHOPPER FOLDING BOATS

Agents for Spade Anchors

Who would imagine that nestled at the foot of the Blackdown Hills in Wellington, Somerset you would find a boat yard. What is even more surprising is that this boat yard has produced over 7,000 boats during the past 28 years to satisfied customers all over the world.

Seahopper Folding Boats manufacture dinghies from top grade marine ply which are very robust and stable on the water, but what is different about these dinghies is that they fold to make them extremely portable. A Seahopper Folding Boat can be carried on a roof rack, in a caravan or motor-home, launched from a river bank or beach and stored in a garage or shed without taking up much space.

What a joy to own a boat which can be rowed, sailed or used with an outboard motor and can be used without the need for a dedicated trailer to transport it, or even a slip-way to launch it. How satisfying to know that in numerous tests carried out by the boating media these boats have consistently come out on top.

Are they complicated to assemble? Not at all. The hull can be assembled in less than a minute by simply slotting in four pieces, which are then secured by stainless steel clips. Steve Rea, the owner of Seahopper Folding Boats holds the world record for assembling a hull of 27 seconds.

Seahoppers come in three sizes, the 6ft 8ins Crafty Scamp, the 7ft 10ins Nifty Fifty and the most recent 10ft Kondor which Steve designed and launched originally in 1997. All of the models can be purchased with or without sailing gear and for the more ambitious can also be purchased in a DIY kit form.

Because of the versatility of our boats and ease of storage, they are used world-wide by boat owners as tenders on yachts, as sail trainers at sailing clubs, by families for fun, by fishermen to get to those inaccessible swims and by public services as emergency boats. Acclaimed by the press and sailing fraternity, a Seahopper Folding Boat could be the answer to your dreams.
